This year’s celebration will pay tribute to the Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation’s
Founder, Don Smith, who passed away in October 2022. For over 20 years, Don reminded us of the
importance of celebrating this now Federal holiday (Juneteenth), but more importantly, bringing
positive attention to the significant contributions of African Americans in our society.
