About the Event
Dear Parade Participant.
We thank you for supporting the Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration and the City of Missouri City. Your participation helps tremendously towards our effort to honor this significant, historical occasion.
One of the highlights of this year’s celebration is our signature “One Mile of Smiles” parade.
We would like for you to join with the numerous bands from the Greater Houston and Fort Bend Area, Boy and Girl Scouts and US Navy Color Guards, along with various other corporate & civic groups, celebrities, dignitaries, and beautiful floats in celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation.
To off-set the cost of this event, we will charge an entry fee. Hopefully, this minimal fee is not a deterrent to your support.
Most importantly, this parade, celebrating its 19th year, will not and have never allowed for political demonstrations and point of views. Elected official are welcome to participate, absent of any campaign signage, promotion, or dialog. The MCJCF reserve the right to reject any entry violation and entry.
This year’s parade will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 and will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.
Best Float, Best Marching Group, and Best Theme trophies will be judged and awarded before parade.
Event staging has been arranged for your arrival at Wells Fargo Bank Building parking lot at 2440 Texas Parkway in Missouri City beginning at 5:00 PM.
After the parade concludes, we welcome you to remain and enjoy the continuation of the celebration with a Festival at Hunters Glen Park. This will be a day filled with activities and fun for the entire family!
Please find enclosed a parade entry form to be completed and either mailed, faxed or emailed back at your earliest convenience. If you have any additional questions, please contact Laura Lopez at the number listed below.
Thank you for choosing to participate in “The Mile of Smiles Parade”.
